Game 1 (Perry Lakes Hawks vs. Gero Buccs)

Game 1 of the finals is here. Tomorrow we will tip-off against Perry Lakes. During the regular season we split with them. They have a good point guard who shoots the mid-range jumper pretty good so I will have my hands full matching up against him. The Hawks also have a big man that is very talented offensively, but is nursing a shoulder injury. That might really hurt them because he provides much of their scoring. However, they did bring in a Perth Wildcats reserve player, who played college ball in the states, to help them out a bit.

As for the Buccs we have had an interesting 2 weeks. We have played without our leading rebounder, Matt Wundenburg, due to a back injury. He probably could have played but coach deemed it necessary to rest him until the finals. This weekwas his first week back and Tuesday was a good session for him as he was nothing but energetic and made his presence known. His shot wasn't there but his hustle and energy was everywhere. Thursday's training comes along and things are going well. Then Matt decides to dribble the ball down court and play point guard (no offense Matt) and somehow manages to hyper-extend his knee. So here we are one day away before one of the biggest games of the year and we are unsure if we will have our leading rebounder. It sucks because he just come back and then re-injury's himself, but that's just the way the cookie crumbled. We are still confident about tomorrow nights game. It will be nice to get game 1 of the series and head back home to finish the series out the following week. FOCKER OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!
